#SixSentenceSunday Art of Deception and an Announcement

Hi all and welcome to another week of Six Sentence Sunday!

Today I thought I would do something a little different.

I have been keeping this a secret for a few months now, but I am writing YA! I have a new pen name, JT Camp and it is with my best friend, Michele Ryan. We are writing a shifter serial. It will be three parts and a little over 60k words when it is finished.

Today, I would like to share with you part of Art of Deception. A little setup. Fallon has gotten herself into a pickle. See her parents have died and she is CONVINCED someone killed them. To the point, she is willing to risk her health to find the killer or killers. So, she did a bad thing, which got her in trouble. So, now she has to work with a team of Arrowfire members. An order of teens who protect paranormal beings and their community. As it stands, someone is collecting paranormal beings, and selling their "parts" on the black market. Which is a big no-no.

In this scene, Fallon is on her first stake out and the hilarity ensues. I hope you enjoy it. Art of Deception will be included in the Magic and Shadows: Young Adult Box Set, coming soon from Opal Moon Press, a division of Afterglows Publishing.

Have you ever done any team building skills, Fallon?”

She snapped her head toward the other vampire in their group. “I failed the trust fall.”
“Seriously?” Disdain dripped from Grainger’s voice.
She gave a nonchalant lift of her shoulder. “Can’t help it, people take too long. I’ve got things to do.”
“Cold blooded.” Warren grinned. “I think we underestimated you.”
“I’m small and unassuming. I get it and don’t hold it against you.” She winked.
“This was a horrible idea.”
“Hey,” she whined. “I caught her, like an inch from the ground.” She curled her hand. “Tiger blood.”
Grainger sighed, completely exasperated by her. “I thought you said you failed.”
“I did. She uh, she kind of hit her ankle on a rock and cracked it. Her ankle, not the rock.”

Here is the link for our new page on Facebook. We encourage you to hit like and join us on this crazy adventure!

Until next week.

#SixSentenceSunday ~ Rule Breaker: Black Ops: R.O.O.T

Morning everyone and welcome to another installment of Six Sentence Sunday. Today I would like to share mine and Michele's coming release, Rule Breaker, part of the Black Ops: R.O.O.T series. (Okay so it's a little more than six sentences.)

“Commander Asher Rainer.” He didn't bother to offer her his hand in greeting. He suspected she'd turn her nose up at the offer anyway. “The good guys.”
“Funny, you look exactly like the bad guys,” she snapped.
“Yet we're trying to help you and this village.” He left off if they had been the bad guys, they'd all be dead by now. No reason to scare the young ones. “You might want to think about that. Is there anything my team can do to help with the boy’s care? I don't have a medic readily available, but all my men are trained in basic first responder skills.”
O’Malley, not wanting to deal with one, let alone two, pissed off females left the room. Pussy.
“I am capable.” She reached down to lift the sick boy into her arms.
“All right then. I'm going to suggest you all stay inside while my team continues to search the area. It would be best for everyone.”

“Why do I have a bad feeling about this?” Wilhem groaned.

#SixSentenceSunday ~ The Professor and Adelaide Wanna Be Bad Box Set

Welcome to another week of Six Sentence Sunday! This week, I would like to share with you, The Professor and Adelaide. I wrote this short about two middle aged people who are finding themselves again after bitter divorces and heartbreak. They are complete opposites, but they fit. I hope you enjoy their story.

“Coffee would be fantastic.”
“Great.” She glanced at her feet. “Is this appropriate? You are the teacher, after all.”
Alistair laughed. “I’m a writer. I could never be a teacher. Besides,” he leaned in. “It’s not like you’re going to take advantage of me.”
Her breath hitched. “I’d never.”
Yet, she thought it, perhaps. Her pulse slammed against the supple flesh of her neck. Her pupils dilated. “Coy joke, Adelaide. Relax.”

Blurb

After her divorce and her son leaving for college, Adelaide Miller is ready to try something new. The local community college is offering a six-week program on English literature, poetry and dramas, taught by none other than Alastair Kline.
New York Times Bestseller Alistair Kline, is in America for a twelve-month tour to promote his new book and to get to know his fans. Every six weeks he changes locations, and this time he ends up in a quiet, little Midwestern town, teaching at a community college.
The man could read a phone book and Adelaide would sit and listen to him.
Unfortunately, the class isn’t about listening, it’s about participating and writing a story. She’d love to write a romance, however her source material is lacking. What starts out as harmless flirting when he offers to help, escalates, and the line between professor and student blurs.
